event wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and drive
of volunteers. We encourage you to explore the many options available
to perspective volunteers.

Pre-Event Volunteer Options
Outreach

Help us advertise the event in the community. We would provide you with the posters and flyers, you would find a place in the community to post it.
Collect supplies
Ongoing
Go to donation drive locations in the community and pick up supply donations and deliver them to the Center for Human Services. Volunteer must have their own transportation.
Fundraising
Ongoing
Host an event or activity to raise funds to support the Back to School Consortium. Have a car wash, bake sale, garage sale on our behalf.
Packaging Socks & Underwear -URGENT
Through June 24. Go to Shoreline PTA Council's- The WORKS and look
for “What’s Happening”. The WORKS calendar will have volunteer
times or you can leave a voice mail at 206-393-4916 ext. 5 to schedule a
work party for your group.
Sorting & Hanging Clothing Donations:

Delivering Supplies to North City Elementary
We are looking for volunteers with vans, trucks, energy & muscles to
help us transport supplies from storage locations to North City Elementary
School
Monday August 22th, 2011 1:00-3:00pm.
Creating Assembly Lines
All ages are welcome to help us prepare the school supplies to be packed
into backpacks.

General Event Options
Set Up of Event -Assist where needed in setting up tables,
tents, signage
Check In – check in families
Distribution of items - Work at one of the distribution
stations
Event Support – Help assist at service areas, safety, line
monitoring
Clean Up – take down distribution stations, pack up remaining
items, clean up grounds
The WORKS Clothing Room
We are looking for adult volunteers to help during the event. Youth can assist with set up/sorting clothes or clean up.
Set up clothing space – help move out clothing racks, and set up store space
Process Donations – sort and hang remaining and incoming donations
restock store between sessions
